Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is never acceptable and it can affect children even when they do not directly experience violence. At Our Lady of the Rosary RC VA Primary, we want parents to know that help is available and that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Domestic abuse can include physical violence, threats, controlling behaviour, emotional abuse, coercive control, and financial restrictions. Children may show changes in behaviour, mood, concentration, attendance, or may become withdrawn or anxious. If you are worried about your child, or if you believe you or someone else is experiencing domestic abuse, please seek support as soon as possible. You can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or use their webchat, and in an emergency call 999. If you need advice or would like to speak to someone at school, please contact us so we can help you understand available support and ensure your child’s safety and wellbeing.

Please also see the leaflets below to help you.
