School Houses

Our House System

Our House System plays an important role in school life, promoting a sense of belonging, teamwork and healthy competition. While it provides opportunities for sporting success, it also recognises and celebrates pupils' achievements in all aspects of school life, including academic effort, excellent behaviour, kindness, politeness and positive contributions to our community.

Every pupil is allocated to one of our four Houses, which are named after the four Gospel writers: St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John. House points are awarded throughout each half term and are celebrated during our Celebration Assemblies, where pupils' achievements and contributions are recognised.

House Assemblies take place each term, providing opportunities for pupils to learn more about their House saint, strengthen relationships across year groups and work together to plan and participate in House events.

Each House is led by a House Captain and Vice House Captain, elected annually from Year 6. Pupils demonstrate their leadership qualities by preparing and delivering speeches explaining why they would be a suitable candidate for the role. Following these presentations, members of each House vote for their representatives. This process provides a meaningful opportunity for pupils to experience and understand British Values, particularly democracy, individual liberty and the importance of having their voices heard.

We are incredibly proud of both our current and former House Captains. It is a privilege to watch them grow in confidence, develop their leadership skills and become positive role models for the younger members of our school community.
