Geography
At Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School, our Geography curriculum aims to inspire children's curiosity and fascination about the world and the people who live in it. We encourage pupils to develop a sense of wonder about the Earth's diverse environments, cultures and communities, while gaining an understanding of their place within the wider world.
Through the study of Geography, children develop knowledge of both the physical world, including landscapes, climates and natural processes, and the human world, exploring how people live, work and interact with their environments. We aim to equip pupils with the knowledge and skills needed to understand global issues and become informed, responsible citizens.
We are proud of the rich cultural diversity within our school community and recognise the wealth of experiences, knowledge and perspectives that our pupils bring from their different cultural backgrounds. These experiences enrich our Geography curriculum, enabling children to learn from one another and develop a deeper appreciation of the world's diverse cultures, traditions and ways of life.
By connecting learning to both local and global contexts, we encourage children to be curious, respectful and engaged learners who understand the importance of caring for people, places and the environment.
