PE
The full National Curriculum for Physical Education is followed at Our Lady of the Rosary. All year groups benefit from access to specialist sports coaches who work closely with the school. These coaches collaborate with the PE Lead to ensure a clear progression of skills across all year groups and provide high-quality continuing professional development (CPD) for our teaching staff.
We are fortunate to have extensive and well-maintained school grounds, enabling children to participate in a wide range of physical activities throughout the year. Our vibrant Forest School programme plays a key role in developing adventurous activities and outdoor learning opportunities for every child from EYFS to Year 6.

Dance and Yoga
In addition, we work with a specialist dance teacher who carefully links dance skills to topics being studied in the classroom, enriching children's learning experiences through creativity and movement. She also delivers yoga and mindfulness sessions, promoting children's physical wellbeing, emotional resilience and positive mental health.

Swimming
At Our Lady of the Rosary, we recognise the importance of swimming as a life skill and understand the significant benefits it brings to our children. Every pupil is given the opportunity to learn to swim, develop confidence in the water and take part in local swimming competitions.
Our Year 6 residential camp has a strong water-based focus, providing further opportunities for children to develop their swimming abilities while deepening their understanding of water safety and self-rescue. This builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their primary years, helping to ensure that pupils leave our school equipped with the confidence and skills needed to stay safe in and around water.
